Carl E. Linke is the author of three previous novels based in the south: The Secret of the Gullah Treasure, Haint Blue and Flagrant Three. He enjoys writing from his home office situated along a deep-water tidal creek on Lady’s Island in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. He lives with his wife Penny; they have two grown children in North Carolina. He is joined daily by his writing companion, Joey—an energetic, rescued rat terrier—and a thirty-eight-year-old parrot appropriately named Fiasco.
